Another great central Vietnam photo workshop

Last month we ended my second 3 day photography workshop in central Vietnam, a tour I ran in collaboration with Quinn Ryan Mattingly who is based in Saigon. His photo-journalistic approach and knowledge of Lightroom editing software were priceless and together we made a great team, ensuring all participants had a great experience.

Once again the weather was on our side, providing us with some beautiful, atmospheric coloring. This was particularly apparent during the landscape workshop section in Lang Co and on Tam Giang lagoon, where we had glorious colors in the sky and in the reflections in the water.

I would like to thank all participants, once again, for being so cool and motivated and for having improved their photo skills so much! It is quite incredible to see people at beginner level reach a very high level of creativity in only 3 days. Of course I am always trying my best to inspire people, but WOW!

After one and a half days in and around Hoi An, visiting remote villages and focusing mostly on people photography, we took a mini bus (and that was fun!) to reach Lang Co and Tam Giang lagoon. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner there (damn the food is quite spicy around Hue!) and the next morning had a very early rise to capture the wonderful display of colors in the sky before sunrise. Once again – a very busy location, with a lot of fishing activity going on in the early light.

On our way back to Hoi An, the Lightroom workshop was a great success and allowed everyone to see the potential of their own photographs. What a perfect complement to the tour! And, of course, we ended the tour with a delicious seafood feast on Hoi An beach!

The workshop focused mainly on camera settings, as most of the participants were at beginner level. However, we quickly focused it on more advanced composition techniques, which were refined during the photo critique section on the last afternoon.

I will be running this tour 3 or 4 times in 2015, and hoping to motivate all participants as much as I previously did! I cannot wait to be back to these great locations and share them with great people!

Thanks so much for such a wonderful tour! I enjoyed it and learned so much that I have only been back home for three days and am looking at your website wishing I could go on another tour very soon!
