Meet Mr. Thanh.
I met him yesterday while exploring some new peanut fields with a group of students on Hoi An photo tour & workshop. He was coming back from another field, where he had been spreading insecticide.
Mr. Thanh is 85 years old, and carries a 16 liters insecticide container on his back when going to work.
Mr. Thanh is 85 years old, and walks around with over 16 kg on his back, daily.
Mr. Thanh works very hard, and he smiles.
Hey, you, shattered by the fact that you can’t buy a new smart phone. Get over it.

I enjoy your work Etienne, everytime .Great pictures. By the way, the list of improvements that I want to achieve whilst with you just got longer … :-).
I like how respectful you are talking in your blog about the people you are taking pictures! (remember the bamboo man :))….recently I heard a photographer saying:”taking pictures is a reflexion of yourself…..so who are you?”…I think it is an interesting thought.
I am an ethnologist by heart I think 😉
