A CLOSER LOOK
Travelling to the Khorasan region in October is no random event. This will allow us to witness and photograph the Saffron harvest, which takes place all over Khorasan. It also matches the celebration of the martyrdom of Imam Reza, a fantastic event to witness and photograph. We will be driving through epic scenery and remote villages, capturing along the way fantastic people and landscape images.
The tour starts and ends in Mashhad, the capital city of North Khorasan. Our transportation in the area will be done via a minivan that will stay with us throughout the tour.
Check out our blog post from 2019 about exploring the area!
Being the far North-Eastern region of Iran, Khorasan is vastly unexplored by travellers, yet it has so much to offer. It is one of the biggest Saffron producers in the world, and we will be able to photograph all the activities happening in the fields. The food is, of course, excellent and the people extremely friendly. This makes it a very safe area to travel to. The region is easily reached from Tehran by train.

YOU WILL LEARN
01. What's Included
In all our tours we strive to make things easy so everyone can focus entirely on photography. This is the reason why our rates include everything during the tour: accommodation, transportation, all meals, and even tips to local people. What is not included is your international flight, visa, travel insurance, and souvenir purchase.
02. Group Size
Given how remote this area is we are limiting the number of participants to 6, for better and more personalized coaching. As it is the case on our tours, we will mostly focus on people and ways to take their photos, but will also face splendid landscape photo opportunities. As we are doing photo critiques and Lightroom tutorials, make sure to take your laptop / iPad.
03. Accomodation & Transportation
We will be staying in lodges and city hotels through the tour. The lodges are comfortable but often do not have enough rooms, meaning we will sometimes have to use twin rooms. All our meals will be in local restaurants and hotels. All our transportation outside of Mashhad will be made via our own minivan.
