April 2021 central Vietnam photography tour

Being based in a country that has managed the Covid crisis exceptionally well, we were lucky enough to be able to embark on a photography tour in central Vietnam on the last weekend of April 2021.

I decided to run this tour only twice this year (instead of every month) as many of my students are actually based in Vietnam and were able to join us in Hoi An. The dates of the tour were set up to match the rice harvest in central Vietnam, and the beginning of a hot summer.

Even though we have been extremely busy building our online photography courses since the beginning of 2021.

This was quite a special tour as everyone was based in Vietnam. Out of 10 students, more than half could communicate the basics of Vietnamese with the local people, which made it very easy to go around and approach the people we met. I was joined by Quinn and Lee, who decided to join us on the tour, making 3 pro photographers on the tour! Needless to say, we have seen amazing images throughout the weekend. Our Sunday photo review was a rollercoaster of stunning and emotional images!

There are just so many things that happened that I can’t start listing them all here. As usual, epic sunrises and sunsets, tonnes of activities and extremely friendly people. I must admit I could get used to running such tours, with advanced photographers who know how to have fun and practice their photography with respect to the people they photograph.

I will be running this photography tour in central Vietnam in July again, as well as a north Vietnam tour through the land of the minority people in September. I already know some of you want to join both of these tours, which is very exciting!

Hopefully 2022 will be kinder to us and we will be able to resume international travels. Inshallah!

    Cordialement.
    Paul
